President McAleese
On Saturday 17th September we welcome President Mary McAleese to take part in our Jubilee Celebrations.
She will be here for Mass at 5.00p.m. Mass will be concelebrated by Archbishop Diarmuid Martin, to be followed by a tree planting ceremony in Fr. Cosgrove’s garden and then to the Árus for some hospitality.
Celebration of Christian Marriage
On Friday 23rd September, 2011 Arklow Parish will once again host an evening in celebration of Christian marriage. Couples celebrating their Silver, Ruby, Golden and Diamond Wedding Anniversaries will be invited to attend a special mass in Sts. Mary & Peter’s Church to mark this important occasion. The celebration will continue in Árus Lorcáin with an evening meal and dancing. Any couples who were married outside the parish and who wish to attend this celebration are asked to please contact the parish office as soon as possible.
150 Celebrations – Special Mass August 26th
As part of our 150 Celebrations, a special evening was held on Friday 26th August in thanksgiving and appreciation for all the Priests and Religious who have served in our Parish down the years.
The evening begun with Mass at 7p.m. in the church followed by refreshments in Árus Lorcáin.
We wish to thank sincerely everybody who helped in any way in making this night a great success. Thanks and gratitute are also extended to all Priests and Religious who joined us on the night.
Blessing of Graves 1st July 2011
The Annual Blessing of the graves took place at St. Gabriel’s Cemetery during a concelebrated Mass, on Friday evening, July 1st 2011. Our sincere thanks and gratitude to all those who helped in any way in the preparations for the blessing.
