A Eucharistic Congress is an international gathering of people which aims to promote an awareness of the central place of the Eucharist in the life and mission of the Catholic Church, to help improve our understanding and celebration of the liturgy and to draw attention to the social dimension of the Eucharist.

To mark the 150th year of our parish church of Sts. Mary and Peter’s a pilgrimage was organised to the Holy Land in order to explore the places associated with Christ. This presented a golden opportunity to walk the land of the Bible and so on the 19th of October 38 intrepid pilgrims led by Fr. Martin Cosgrove set out from Arklow to make the journey to Israel and get closer to the people who first heard the word of God, the Jews, and visit some of the many shrines and churches that have been erected there in memory of sacred and holy events.
